The deep blue finish photographs like paint and behaves like weather: it shifts from near-black to electric depending on the light. That effect isn't one color — it's a stack.
The stack
Raw carbon gets a black basecoat, then three translucent blue layers applied wet-into-wet so the pigment moves before it sets. No two frames pool the same way, which is why no two look identical in sunlight.
The logotype
The brushed-silver marque isn't a decal. It's masked, sprayed, and hand-brushed before the clearcoat goes on — under magnification you can see the stroke direction change at the letter curves.
Surviving gravel
Beauty that chips is a warranty claim. The clearcoat is the same high-solids formulation used on the down tube's impact zone, and every finish batch rides a week of stone-spray testing before the paint room signs it off. The finish ships on the ExAero GR RDC Frameset.
